LINSEIS Dilatometers (DIL)

by LINSEIS

Dilatometry (DIL) by Linseis is a highly precise thermal analysis technique used to measure dimensional changes and thermal expansion of materials as a function of temperature, time, and atmosphere.

Linseis dilatometers enable automatic and highly accurate length change measurements of solids, powders, pastes, and liquids, making them indispensable tools for materials research, industrial process optimization, and quality control. The systems are designed to operate across an exceptionally wide temperature range, from cryogenic conditions to above 2800 °C, depending on configuration.

The Linseis Dilatometer Series includes a broad portfolio of specialized instruments, allowing users to select the optimal configuration for their application:

  • DIL L74 HM – Heating microscope with contact angle measurement and vacuum-tight sample chamber (–100 °C to 2000 °C)

  • DIL L74 Optical – Optical, non-contact dilatometer for precise CTE measurements

  • DIL L75 HP – High-pressure dilatometer for length change measurements under pressure

  • DIL L75 / Laser – Laser dilatometer offering maximum resolution and precision

  • DIL L75 PT Horizontal / Vertical – Flexible research-grade dilatometers in horizontal or vertical alignment

  • DIL L75 PT Quattro – Multi-sample dilatometer enabling simultaneous measurement of up to four samples

  • DIL L76 PT – Robust, cost-effective dilatometer for entry-level and routine measurements

  • DIL L78 / RITA – Quenching and deformation dilatometer for ZTU, TTT, CCT, and CHT diagrams

Linseis offers both horizontal and vertical instrument designs, each optimized for specific temperature ranges, sample handling requirements, and throughput needs. Vertical configurations provide zero-friction measurement, improved gas flow management, and the ability to integrate multiple furnaces to cover the entire temperature range seamlessly.

All Linseis dilatometers are fully compliant with international ASTM and ISO standards, ensuring traceability, reproducibility, and regulatory compliance across industrial and research environments.
